King Charles III’s new royal portrait is set to become a fixture in schools, government buildings and courthouses in Britain. However, one author has said he seems ‘vulnerable and sad’ in the photo, which was taken following the death of his mother.

King Charles‘ new portrait, to mark his ascension to the throne, has been planned to make its way to more places across the UK. The monarch became the head of The Firm after Queen Elizabeth II passed away in September 2022. A new book, released today, claims the Queen left just two sealed letters after she died, one addressed to her eldest son who was to take her place. But royal author, Angela Levin has said His Majesty is showing different sides to him in the photograph.

King Charles’ appears ‘regal’ in new portrait

A new portrait of King Charles III has been released and will be made available to public organisations such as police, armed forces, councils and schools should they choose to request one in a frame. His Majesty is wearing his Admiral of the Fleet uniform.

Levin, who spent time with Prince Harry for 15 months for his biography, Harry: Conversations with a Prince, spoke of the picture on GB News.

King Charles wears his Royal Navy uniform, as Admiral of the Fleet, in the new portrait. It’ll be hung in public buildings across Britain, after the government splashed out $10m.

“I think it’s very nice, but I do think he looks a bit vulnerable and a little sad”, she said.

“He’s wearing the Admiral of the Fleet uniform, it’s an amazing amount he’s carrying on him, I wonder how heavy it is.

“He looks very regal, but he looks a bit sad.”

News anchor Eamonn Holmes asked the expert why Charles hadn’t posed with the Queen. However, she explained it would have been ‘unusual’ practice. Before now, the Queen’s portrait has been hanging in public buildings throughout her reign.

New bombshell book is on the market

It comes as a new royal book, by Daily Mail columnist Robert Hardman, is set to hit the shelves today.

The work, called Charles III: New King. New Court. The Inside Story, is set to offer new revelations within the royal realm. It includes claims Harry and Meghan’s decision to name their daughter Lilibet left the late Queen ‘angry’.

However, at the time, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex insisted they only named their youngest in tribute to the monarch after her blessing.

A previous source said the Sussexes’ waited right up until the birth for her decision, which was a yes.

Now, another insider closer to the pair has claimed the couple are ‘shocked’ this narrative is ‘coming out now’. The duo apparently believe it’s part of a ‘smear campaign’ against them.
